Qinwen XiaoDirector, Payment Markets, Asia Pacific
Qinwen Xiao is the Director of Payments Markets for SWIFT in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. He looks after the development of SWIFT’s payment business across APAC, and has been working closely with the payments and banking industry to deliver clearing and settlement solutions in both the high value and retail payments sectors. He also leads the global payment innovation initiative at SWIFT for APAC.
During his experience in the financial services and payments industry he has held positions in sales, business development, strategy and marketing functions. His areas of expertise include payment market infrastructures modernisation and development, resiliency planning for critical systems, mobile payments, and payment innovations.
Prior to joining SWIFT, he held positions in Bloomberg Singapore in various roles, including financial analyst, sales & marketing, business & market development for emerging markets. Prior to Bloomberg, he worked in Telefonica I+D based in Madrid, and a tech start-up named efergy based in Singapore and Mainland China.
Qinwen holds an MSc from the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Computation for Design and Optimization, and an MSc from the NUS (National University of Singapore) in Computing Engineering.
